About Elissa Sweet

I am an artist, designer and editor based in Westerly, Rhode Island. I have edited more than 100 books, ranging from adult fiction to young adult novels to political nonfiction. I have also worked as a project manager and editor for a legal consulting firm and as a copy editor and a writer for various newspapers and magazines. I have a background in graphic design and web design, and my art focuses largely on watercolor and ink botanical and bird illustrations and on digital portraits and logos.

Before starting my own business, I worked at Bank Square Books and Savoy Bookshop & Café as the event and marketing manager and at Time magazine as the deputy copy chief.

I grew up in Northern Michigan, spent eight years in New York City and now live 10 minutes from the beach in Rhode Island. I can most often be found on the beach searching for seaglass, covered in dirt in my garden, painting in my studio or buried in a good book.
